Pedigree and early life
S.E. Miss Pogany is the first foal born in Norway from the Holsteiner stallion Diarado. Her dam was sent to Paul Schockemöhle’s stud in the summer of 2009 to be bred to the stallion. Miss Pogany was born in August the following year. Just a few weeks after her birth, she participated at the Norwegian Foal Festival, where she received a score of 9 overall from the Danish judges and was ranked second among all show jumping foals.
«She is a very beautiful foal. A large and well-developed foal of excellent type. There is good harmony in the body, a good croup, the neck is set correctly. She has a muscular, well-shaped and supple topline. The movement is good in walk and exceptionally good in trot and canter.»
At the Norwegian Warmblood Show the following week, she also topped the show jumping foals. Judge Jens Søgaard (DK) described her as follows:
«A lovely, noble foal with a good expression that shows a very supple canter that is very well suited for a show jumper. She is efficient, she is quick to react and she can accelerate. A lovely, appealing foal. She has what a show jumper should have. As a show jumper, it is also an absolute advantage that she has a good degree of nobility.»
On September 1, 2013, she was licensed in the Danish Warmblood Studbook. – A rather elegant, expressive mare that has a beautiful shape to her front and her neck. A good croup. Long, sloping shoulder. Well-defined long mane. Good topline. Good foundation.
Sporting achievements
S.E. Miss Pogany had a fantastic sporting season in 2016. She began show jumping training with Amund Eide in January 2016 and earned prizes at almost every show she attended from February to August. She delivered in all areas, with technique, scope, rideability and an extremely good competitive spirit. The season was concluded with a brilliant 2nd place in the Norwegian Breeders Trophy. A few weeks later, it became clear that the injury she had sustained as a 2-year-old had flared up again, and we therefore decided to put her in foal from the spring of 2017.
In August 2016, she was awarded R by the Danish Warmblood. She has received the R based on her excellent sporting results this year, where she has picked up about twenty placings this season up to 120 cm and at large shows such as the National Championship and the Norwegian Breeders Trophy.
What the rider says
Camilla Viken trained and rode the mare in 2016 and has the following to say about the mare:
I started riding S.E. Miss Pogany as a 5-year-old in the autumn of 2015 and she showed promising signs from the very beginning. Even though she had jumped little under a rider before, she was very careful over fences and jumped with a convincing technique and scope. The 2016 season began with her very first show at the turn of January/February and ended with the Norwegian Breeders Trophy in Arendal in August. Throughout the season, she has had fine results and has taken home prizes from almost all the shows she has participated in, which shows her qualities. This mare was born with a saddle on her back and is extremely rideable, simply a joy to ride. She has a good, round canter and a very nice jump. You can just queue up when the foals come, when they are near their mother they become very fine show jumpers with good gaits.
